Ways We Love the World

Every Sunday Morning at 10:30 am

"Spiritual Renewal"

Insightful messages with Rev. Anne Hines, created to help us live well with each other, with ourselves and with our God. Check out Anne's talks here and find more on Soundcloud (look for Roncesvalles United Church). We also have uplifting music with a variety of great musicians. And a fun, inclusive kid's program.

We, once again have Sunday School, so bring the little ones out to service. Dawna and Trish will do crafts and tell the kids stories, all while learning important lessons.

Sunday, February 23, 10:30 am ~ Scouting Sunday. Join us for this fun annual church service with guests from our many Scouting groups.

Wednesday, February 26, 6 pm ~ Ash Wednesday Service. Ash Wednesday ushers in the 46 day period of Lent. Ashes made from last years dried palms kept from the previous Palm Sunday are applied, with a blessing to the forehead. Lent is a time of reflection and preparing for the new life that comes with spring and Easter. This is a brief, quiet service with communion.

Sunday, March 8 (following a short morning service) RUC Annual General Meeting. Everyone is invited to gather in the Middle Room for sandwiches and a review of our church's activities in 2019. The annual report will be available by February 27.

Dinner With Dignity

Our church cooks and serves 15,000 fresh, free meals each year for people in need. Guests are not only treated to a meal, but are offered warm clothing, companionship and given a sense of dignity and belonging. We serve lunch every Sunday at 1 pm and dinner every Sunday at 5:30 pm. No one is ever turned away. We love volunteers! Contact us for more information.

Not Just Tourists

Our partner group picks up unused medical supplies from local hospitals, clinics and from people who have been caring for a loved one in their home. We store and sort them here at Roncesvalles United Church and then send them out free-of-charge to countries in need. This year, we will save 100,000 lbs of medical supplies from going into Ontario landfills and, instead, send them to Africa, the Caribbean and other vulnerable countries. We love volunteers!

Newcomers Kitchen &
Refugee Sponsorship

Our partnership with the Arab Community Centre of Toronto provides newcomer women with opportunities to learn English, cook together and supplement their income by catering delicious, traditional Middle Eastern meals. Make your next gathering special by hiring our wonderful cooks!

Roncesvalles United Church also partners with other churches to sponsor newcomer families.

Church of the Beatitudes

Ordained women Catholic priests offer a traditional Catholic mass in our sanctuary twice each month. We are so pleased to welcome the Church of the Beatitudes who help us live out our understanding of God's inclusive love.

Spiritual Discussion Groups and support

We offer a variety of spiritual discussion and learning opportunities. Check our events page regularly for our upcoming gatherings or, subscribe to our weekly online newsletter.

And, our minister, Anne Hines is available for one-on-one spiritual conversation. You don't have to be a member of this or any other faith group to make an appointment.
